Copies of the petition de droit and related documents of Elizabeth Lyttleton for dower in the entailed property of her son John Lyttleton of Frankley, co. Worc. (who was implicated in the Earl of Essex's rebellion and died in prison July 1601 ) escheating to the Crown on his conviction for high treason 20 Feb. 1600; circ. 1602. Included are copies of his marriage settlement (f. 10b) and of the inquisitions post mortem on his grandfather, Sir John (f. 24b), and his father Gilbert Lyttleton (f. 31).
