Another piece of verse, in Latin, addressed to Sainte-Marthe by Binet, and written in a similar hand is Paris, Bibl. Nat. MS. Nouv. acq. fr. 14823, f. 11. Three letters of Binet to Sainte-Marthe are in Paris, Bibliothèque de l'Institut de France, MS. 290, ff. 36, 39, 41; the third of these is in a hand closely resembling that of the present sonnet.
