The second movement is the same as the third movement of the quartet in C minor in Durham University Library; a sketch for the third movement, circ. 1882-1884 (Florentine paper) is in Add. MS. 46863, f. 3. ff. 52-96b;-(4) Quartet in C. The address 'Hauptmannstr 5 III' (f. 125) dates from the composer's later years in Leipzig (C.
