EGMONT PAPERS. Vol. CXCII (ff. i+169). Egmont MS. 255. Commonplace book of Sir John Perceval, 1st Bart., probably compiled while at Magdalene College, Cambridge; 1646-1649, n.d. The chief contents are poems, mostly with no indication of authorship, as listed below. In addition, at ff. 92-168 (reversing the volume) are exercises in Latin and Greek verse, including sacred epigrams, and in Latin prose, apparently composed by Perceval, etc. Also interspersed throughout the volume (ff. 46-88 passim, 137b, 138b) are copies of family and other correspondence, partly in Latin.
