Painted arms of English sovereigns from the Conquest to James I, and of their creations of nobility to 16009/10; accompanied by blazons of arms and biographical particulars of the bearers (additions to these notices to temp. Charles I). Preceded (f. 3) by the attributed arms of various dynasties that ruled in Britain to Edward I. Belonged apparently to 'Richard Estcott de Lanceston' [Launceston, co. Cornw.] (see ff. 2, 3) [?Richard Escott (d. circ. 1641/2), of Exeter Coll., Oxford, 1612; Lincoln's Inn 1620; M.P. for Newport, co. Cornw., 1624-1625, and Launceston, 1625, 1626, 1628/9, see J. Foster, Alumni Oxonienses, 1500-1714, ii, p. 465].
