LIEVEN PAPERS. Vol. CCXIX (ff. 142). Copies of official despatches from, together with other papers of Count Aleksandr Ivanovich Medem, Russian diplomatist; 1835-1856. Mostly French. The despatches were written from Egypt, Persia and Brazil, in which countries Medem successively held diplomatic posts. At ff. 128, 129 are printed copies, in Russian, of a manifesto and ukaze issued by the Emperor Alexander II on his accession in 1855. At f. 141 is a passport, in Spanish, for Medem from the Republic of Paraguay, 1856.
