MEYERSTEIN BEQUEST. Vol. Xl (ff. ii+38). 'Grand Concert pour le Piano-forte composé par Charles Marie de Weber, Mannheim und Darmstadt im Jahr 1810'. Autograph. Full score. The three movements, Allegro, Adagio, and Presto, are separately dated by the composer:- 'comp. in September 1810 in Darmstadt, ganz vollendet d:4: 8br' (f. 17b); 'd: 21 : May 1810 in Mannheim' (f. 20b); 'componirt d: [22] May 1810 in Mannheim' (f. 38). Sent by Weber on 18 Oct. 1810 to J. André of Offenbach who published it, in parts, in 1812 (F. W. Jähns, Carl Maria von Weber ... Chronologischthematisches Verzeichniss, 1871, no. 98, pp. 118-119). A later edition, published by Schlesinger, Berlin, was revised by Professor Ernst Rudorff (1840-1916), former owner of the present manuscript, who was a pupil of a god-daughter of Weber (Grove's Dictionary, 5th edit., vii, p. 327). Paper. 245 mm. ×340 mm. A.D. 1810. Former covers at ff. i, ii. Owned successively by Professor Ernst Rudorff and Professor Rudolf Schwartz (note by Dr Henri Hinrichsen, f. ib).
