A deed of sale whereby Heraclides, son of Petheus, aged 20, sells a portion of a courtyard located in Karanis to Philemon, son of Ptolemaeus, for 200 drachmas. The subscriptions of the parties follow: Corax, son of Apollonius, wrote on behalf of Heraclides and his mother Isidora as they are illiterate. The registration docket is at the end.

Papyrus sheet, lacking the lower left edge and abraded in places, especially in the left half. Writing runs on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. The text consists of one broad column; the last few lines are broken at the beginning. All margins are preserved, the upper and right being minimal and the left being irregular. There are a few wormholes. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass case.

Dimensions: 289 x 347 mm; housed in a glass case measuring 340 x 395 mm.
Script: Skilled cursive hand of good size; little space is left from one line to another in the subscription of Heraclides, written by Corax in a cursive hand; the subscription of Philemon is written in a rough and detached hand of bigger size.
