Left papyrus (P.Lond. II 171a, TM 11639): Receipt issued by Horion, tax collector in Soknopaiou Nesos, acknowledging that Apynchis has paid 36 drachmas on a parcel of land. Dated to 21 March 102.
Right papyrus (P.Lond. II 171b, Chrest.Mitt. 309, TM 31210): A third-century request to the strategus of the Heracleopolite nome Aurelius Rhesus from Antonia Nemesilla, daughter of a veteran and landowner, acting without guardian. Her husband Serenus, a soldier, had gone to the Thebaid on assignment and had died. Nemesilla is now asking that Serenus’ will may be opened in Rhesus' presence.

Two papyrus sheets that do not belong together, mounted on cardboard in the same frame.
Left papyrus (A): Almost complete, lacking part of its left half and with occasional surface damage; writing runs along the fibres on one side, the back being blank. There are 10 lines, the last two of which lack the beginning; the text occupies slightly more than a third of the sheet. All margins are extant, the side being minimal; the blank space at the bottom measures 110 mm. Small holes are located along the vertical folds.
Right papyrus (B): Incomplete, broken off at the bottom, and lacking part of the upper left portion; dark-stained in the upper half. The text runs along the fibres, the back being blank; there are 23 lines, the last of which only has traces; the last two lines are separated from the rest of the text by some blank space. The lower margin is lost, part of the upper margin is preserved.

Script: A-B: two cursive hands, that of A of small size, that of B of medium size, very neat.
