Fragment of a petition from an inhabitant of a village of the Hermopolite nome to the strategus, enclosing the copy of a petition sent to the praeses of the Thebaid and concerning some duties imposed upon him despite his old age. A note was added by the strategus in the upper margin. Partly published.

Upper portion of a papyrus sheet, mutilated at the edges and with holes and some surface damage in the preserved portion; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. The front bears the top of a column, with no line being complete. The upper margin survives; no margin was left to the right. A sheet-join is visible at c. 40 mm from the right edge. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Script: Lines 1-6: Large, thin cursive hand with a slant to the right; line 7-end: Small, careful and neat upright cursive hand.
