A letter to Abinnaeus from Apollos, who has reached Alexandria as per Abinnaeus’ instructions and reports on matters concerning a house of Abinnaeus there. He quotes the amounts that a certain Isas has collected from the tenant as rent for the house and states that he encloses receipt and account for the house and loaves. The address is on the back.

Papyrus sheet, fully preserved, written on both sides along the fibres. The front side is defaced in places, especially along the vertical folds. The left margin measures 13-20 mm, the upper 17 mm, and no margin was left at the bottom and right. The back contains a two-line docket with a figure. The papyrus is housed in a glass case.

Script: Large semi-cursive hand, with a tendency to become more cursive towards the end.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, or Dionysias, meris of Themistos, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 229-255 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 14 January 1893.
