An account of wine in several hands, arranged in columns and continuing on the back. Names and quantities of wine distributed to each are listed; other articles such as a pig, corn, fleeces are occasionally mentioned. Many of the men listed are military. Some annotations occur in the margins of column 1 on the front and above a line on the back; some lines were crossed out on both sides. The last record on the back was presumably made by the prefect himself.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, or Dionysias, meris of Themistos, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 229-255 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 14 January 1893.
