Sale of two male slaves for 1200 talents each, purchased by Aurelia Nonna alias Polyeton from Marcus Aurelius Petrus and Marcus Aurelius Zenon, sons of Petrus and Alexandrian citizens. The slaves are Metirus alias Ptillon and his brother Primus, born in Alexandria. With subscriptions of the vendors, warrant and witnesses.

Light-brown papyrus sheet, darker in places, broken off at the top and damaged by wormholes throughout. Writing is on one side across the fibres, the back being blank. Left, bottom and right margins are extant. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass case.

Script: Upright cursive hand for the body of the document; five hands for the subscriptions.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, or Dionysias, meris of Themistos, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 229-255 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 14 January 1893.
