Parts of the official returns written by Heraclides, amphodarch of the quarter of Apollonios’ Camp in Arsinoe, of which further portions are to be found in Papyrus 260 and P.Vindob. G 19976. These are lists, drawn up by the same hand, of inhabitants of the quarter liable to various taxes; 45 columns survive, and Papyrus 261 represents the beginning of the document, containing lines 1-278. Thirty columns before it were lost.

Papyrus 261 (2): 9 columns written in Greek, continuing the returns; of column 9 only the first letters of a few lines remain; Demotic writing was added in the blank space and occasionally above the Greek text.
