Portion of a Greek petition issued by the veteran Aelius Syrion to an unnamed prefect of Egypt, in which he complains about misdeeds and fraud in some commercial transactions concerning oil and wheat. At the top of the document, there are remains remains of a Latin text, perhaps the prefect’s answer; at the bottom, the prefect’s subscription in Latin (l. 35, recogno[u]i).

Dimensions: 265 x 221 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 320 x 255 mm.
Script: The script is a small and clear Greek semi-cursive. The little visible Latin is drafted in a competent old Roman cursive, full of ligatures.
