Petition (P.Dryton 34, P.Lond. II 401, Chrest.Mitt. 18, TM 284)
- Scope & Content:
-
A petition to Phommous, epistrategus (one of the highest officials) of the Thebaid, from Apollonia and Aphrodisia, daughters of Dryton, acting also on behalf of their sisters. They complain that a certain Ariston took advantage of their not being able to travel and administer their vineyard on the other side of the Nile, which was part of their inheritance: Ariston occupied the plot violently and planted part of it. The sisters ask that Ariston be summoned and the matter be investigated.
