II 447 ro. descr., TM 10014): Draft of a petition addressed to the emperors Constantius and Constans from Abinnaeus, who summarises his career, and focuses on the time when he conducted the refugees of the Blemyes to Constantinople, as well as on his appointment as prefect of the ala of Dionysias.
Verso (P.Abinn. 78, SB VIII 9696, P.Lond. III 447 vo. descr., TM 32687): Accounts belonging to a person named Hermias: the first one – corresponding to column 1 – concerns grain (lines 1-12); the second one, in column 2, concerns barley (lines 13-22).

Papyrus roll, pale brown, broken off at the top, written on both sides. The recto bears one column of 15 lines, the verso two columns of 22 lines, complete. On the front the preserved margins are the right (40 mm), lower (45 mm) and left (40 mm). The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 292 x 515 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 345 x 560 mm.
Script:: recto: Latin hands. The script of hand 1 – which is likely to belong to Abinnaeus’ secretary – is one of the first examples of fully formed new Roman cursive, and it is characterised by frequent ligatures, by some larger letters (c, d, e, g, h), and by the tendency to extend strokes at the end of the line. Hand 2, less elegant, is faster in execution. Verso: Greek hand.
