Upper fragment (A) (P.Lond.Lit. 217, P.Lond. II 459a, TM 61889, LDAB 3046): Fragment of a parchment codex containing Paul’s Epistle to the Colossians 3:15-16, 20-21. Assigned to the 6th century.
Lower fragment (B) (P.Lond. II 459b, TM 28052): Beginning of a document, presumably a petition, from Claudius Martialis and Serenus, public hunters, through their assistant Lucius Anoubion, to the elders of a village, perhaps Soknopaiou Nesos. End of the 2nd century (?).

Two fragments that do not belong together, housed in the same glass frame.
Upper fragment (A): Fragment from the bottom of a leaf of a parchment codex; portions of 7 lines from the foot of a column survive on each side. The lines on the front lack the ends, those on the back lack the beginninhs. The lower margin measures 50 mm.
Lower fragment (B): Upper portion of a papyrus sheet, written on one side across the fibres, the back being blank; with abrasion in places; 5 lines, with traces of a sixth line at the bottom.

Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 450-464 and Coptic papyri from Theodor Graf (b. 1840, d. 1903) in March 1893 and transferred with Papyri 460-464 from the Oriental Department of the British Museum in June 1894.
