Will of Peisias (P.Petr.2 I 13, P.Petr. I 12, P.Petr. III 9, TM 47308)
- Scope & Content:
-
Copy of the will of Peisias, a Lycian military settler with land in the Arsinoite nome, who makes provisions for Pisicrates, his son from his first marriage, and for his wife Axiothea. He bequeaths to Pisicrates an apartment house in Alexandria with furniture and some Syrian slaves; his wife is to inherit a Syrian female slave and a house in Boubastos. The remaining furniture in Boubastos is to be shared between Axiothea and Pisicrates. Axiothea may keep what she has brought as a dowry and is still intact, while as regards what has not survived or is worn, Pisicrates should pay the value of various items of clothing and jewelry to her.
Traces of another column survive, presumably with a dating clause.
