Papyrus in the middle (B) P.Petrie Kleon 71, P.Petr. II 13(12b), P.Lond. III 540b descr., TM 44589): Fragment of a letter from Theodorus to Cleon; details are lost through mutilation.
Lower papyrus (C) (P.Petrie Kleon 73, P.Petr. II 13(13), P.Petr. III 42g(6), P.Lond. III 540c descr., TM 7662): Letter of Philiscus to Cleon, enclosing the copy of the petition to the king sent by Glaucus and Asclepiodotus, of which only the beginning survives. With address on the back.

Three fragments of three papyrus sheets from mummy cartonnage, housed in the same glass frame. The modern annotations refer to the mummies from which the papyri come.
Upper papyrus (A): Fragment of a sheet bearing writing on both sides. On the front there are 2 lines written across the fibres; upper and left margins measure 25 mm. On the back there is one word parallel to the fibres, written the other way up in relation to the text on the front.
Papyrus in the middle (B): Fragment from the top of a sheet, with remains of 3 lines written along the fibres on the front; traces of another line at the bottom remain. The upper margin survives to 18 mm. The fragment is mounted on cardboard.
Lower papyrus (C): Upper portion of a sheet, with detached fragment being the upper right corner; with some holes and plaster residue. The front bears 5 lines, with a blank of 25 mm between lines 3 and 4; the upper margin measures 20 mm, and the left 10 mm. The back bears one word parallel to the fibres, written the other way up in relation to the text on the front.

Dimensions: A: 55 x 140 mm; B: 45 x 100 mm; C: 90 x 120 mm. Housed in a glass frame measuring 320 x 205 mm.
Script: Upright, semi-cursive hands, with the hands of A and B being somewhat uneven.

Origin: Arsinoite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Gurob, Egypt. Presented as part of a lot comprising Papyri 486-603 by Henry Martyn Kennard (b. 1833, d. 1911) in May 1895. The papyri had been extracted from mummy cartonnage found in Gurob by William Matthew Flinders Petrie (b. 1853, d. 1942) in 1889-1890.
