Two fragments from a papyrus roll, extracted from mummy cartonnage, containing portions of an unknown comic play. The attribution of the text to Philemon has been debated, as well as the suggestion that it may belong to Papyrus 1823 (see Körte, ‘Literarische Texte’ (1941)).

Script: Good-sized, rather irregular upright with cursive traits.

Provenance: Ankyropolis (El-Hiba), Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 688-731 from Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) on 14 November 1896.
