Fragmentary receipt from Aurelius Cosmas to Victor, representative of the dux Ioseph, acknowledging a money payment. Details are obscure owing to the loss of the text. With subscription of Cosmas and two witnesses and the notarial subscription at the end, and docket on the back.

Papyrus sheet, darker in places, lacking part of its left half and with holes in the preserved portion; written on both sides along the fibres. On the back there is one line, of which only the beginning survives. The front bears 24 lines, many of which lack the beginnings. Margins are extant, the side and upper being minimal. Folding lines are visible. The papyrus is housed in a glass case.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 337 x 114 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 390 x 170 mm.
Script: Proficient cursive hand of small size, sloping to the right, somewhat irregular in size; lines are slightly uneven; the subscription at the end is more upright and larger and exhibits flourishes.

Origin: Krokodilopolis (Medinet el-Fayum), Egypt.
Provenance: Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 688-731 from Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) in November 1896.
