Scope & Content:

Recto (20704): Military accounts recording the supplies, chiefly of fodder, provided to various troops, with copies of receipts; the total and date are given at the end. Dated 16-24 February 295.

Verso (20705): List of guards and watchmen distributed across various streets and public buildings of Oxyrhynchus, such as various temples, two churches, baths, the theatre, the Gymnasium; dated not long after 16 February 295.

Provenance: Oxyrhynchus, Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt. Presented as part of a lot comprising Papyri 739-834 by the Egypt Exploration Fund in October 1900. Of these, papyri 739-814 form part of the discoveries made by Bernard Pyne Grenfell and Arthur Surridge Hunt on the site of the ancient Oxyrhynchus.
