Papyrus 3059(1) Column 1 (= Papyrus 3058, P.Oxy. XXVII 2475, TM 17009): A portion of a letter, of which only the ends of lines survive, presumably addressed to the senate of Oxyrhynchus from Aurelius Hatres, containing his credentials to support his claim to exemption from taxes and liturgies.
Papyrus 3059(1) Column 2 - Papyrus 3059 (2) (P.Oxy. XXVII 2476, Pap.Agon. 3, TM 17010): A certificate attesting that Aurelius Hatres is a member of the ecumenical synod of Dionysiac artists in order to secure him exemption from taxes and liturgies. A series of documents are supplied in order to testify to the privileges granted to the society and as supporting documentation.
Papyrus 3059 (1) Column 2, lines 1-4: Letter of the emperor Claudius to the society confirming priviliges granted by Augustus;
Lines 4-7: Summary of a decree of Hadrian on the priviliges of the society;
Lines 7-11: Letter of Severus confirming the privileges;
Lines 11-12: Letter (?) of Severus Alexander concerning the decisions of Caracalla and Severus;
Lines 12-17: Letter from the synod to its members certifying the appointment of Aurelius Hatres as high priest and his payment of the fees;
Line 17 - Papyrus 3059(2), line 5: Ratification of this letter, countersigned by the organiser of the Panopolite games;
Papyrus 3059(2), line 5- end: Decree of the society and covering letter addressed to the senate of Oxyrhynchus, dated in the 4th and 3rd year of Diocletian and Maximian, Mesore 2nd (26 July).

- Fragmentary sheets with detached fragments from the same ‘pasted roll’ (tomos synkollesimos) as Papyrus 3060 (P.Oxy. XXVII 2477). Written on one side along the fibres, the text being damaged by wormholes and gaps. Housed in two glass cases, named Papyrus 3059 (1), which also includes Papyrus 3058, and Papyrus 3059 (2). The sheet housed in the first frame preserves the right-hand side of a column, which is Papyrus 3058; a second column, which has beta as a heading letter, is part of Papyrus 3059. Inside the frame letters A and B are used in order to differentiate the texts. The second sheet contains one broad column, which is the continuation of Papyrus 3059, with gamma as a heading letter.

Dimensions: Papyrus 3059 (1): 230 x 430 mm; Papyrus 3059 (2): 230 x 425. Housed in two glass cases measuring 280 x 470 mm and 280 x 460 mm respectively.
Script: Practised and clear hand; a different hand is in the last line of the first column, smaller and more cursive.
