Petition of Theotimus to Cleopatra III and Ptolemy X, complaining about a case of abduction and theft perpetrated against him by Diocles, son of Alexander. Theotimus was insulted, abducted and beaten by Diocles and others, and was left naked in someone else’s house. He was able to recover for the price of 2,700 copper drachmas his own garment which had been pawned by Diocles. He now intends to proceed against Diocles and his fellows.

Papyrus sheet, almost complete but in poor condition, with holes and surface damage throughout; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. There is one column of 36 lines; all margins are extant, the right being minimal. The blank space at the bottom measures 95 mm. The annotation in red refers to the publication in P.Fay. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass case.

Script: Medium-sized, clear hand, more cursive in places; at the ends of uprights there are occasional left-pointing serifs.
