Recto (P.Oxy. II 220, TM 63266, LDAB 4471, MP3 2172)
Incomplete treatise on metrics addressed to a friend, from an anonymous author (a poet?); 14 columns survive, although damaged throughout; additionally, on the right-hand side of the frame are 12 fragments, some of which bear no writing. The papyrus was cut before being re-used for the text on the verso so that only the upper parts of the columns survive. The text supplies quotations from poems, some of which are unknown, often arranged so as to slightly project into the left-hand margin (ekthesis). Among the authors quoted or mentioned are Aeschylus, Alcman, Anacreon, Callimachus, Pindar, Sappho and Simonides.
Cols. 1-2: Fragmentary;
Col. 3: On the Nicarchean metre;
Col. 4: Remains of 3 lines;
Col. 5: On a not better specified metre that the author himself wrongly thought to have invented, with an addition supplied by a corrector, to which the mark on the right hand side of the column refers;

Col. 7: On the Anacreontean metre;
Col. 8: On the Phalaecean metre;
Col. 9: On the Praxillean metre;
