Deed of divorce between Thaesis, daughter of Thonis and Sintheus, and Petosarapis, son of Thompekysis and Sinthonis, both of Oxyrhynchus. Thaesis acknowledges that she has received back 400 drachmas, which she had brought to her husband as a dowry. Both parties state that they renounce all claims on each other.

Two joining fragments of a papyrus sheet of light colour, broken off at the bottom and lacking part of the left half; torn at the top and displaying minor surface damage throughout. Writing is on one side along the fibres, the back being blank; there are 23 lines, but of the last only few traces survive; from line 11, lines lack the beginnings. The left margin survives up to line 10, the upper margin is damaged, and measures 20 mm, and no margin was left to the right. The number in red refers to the publication in P.Oxy. II. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass case.

Dimensions: 156 x 146 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 205 x 200 mm.
Script: Neat and small cursive hand, with a tendency to be compressed at the end of the lines.

Origin: Oxyrhynchus, Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Oxyrhynchus, Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt. Presented as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1180-1199 by the Egypt Exploration Fund in November 1903. The fragment containing the left half of lines 1-11 arrived at the British Museum in 1909.
