Fragments of a papyrus roll containing portions from the eleventh book of Homer’s Iliad.
Left column: Iliad XI.505-516, 521-547 (only endings of lines);
Right column: Iliad XI.555-567, 572-602 (only beginnings of lines), with new readings in lines 563 and 595.
On the back, there are traces of a second or third century document, of which little remains.

- Extent:
- Two fragments of varying size from a papyrus roll, with writing on both sides. The front bears portions of two columns written along the fibres, with no line being complete. The lower margin survives. On the back, there are traces of an effaced text, running across the fibres. The modern annotation in red refers to the publication in P.Oxy. II. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: Larger fragment: 178 x 103 mm; fragment 2: 62 x 100 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 310 x 155 mm.
Script: Recto: Small and neat round hand, with serifs in places; letters are well and regularly spaced; bilinearism is breached by some uprights extending above and below the writing line. Occasional accents and elision marks occur; an addition above the line was made by a second hand in line 583; critical sign opposite l. 602. Verso: Cursive hand.
