Papyrus fragment, broken at the bottom and right and with a scrap in the top right. Darker patches are located in the upper portion. The upper margin survives to 15 mm. The fragment preserves the beginnings of 12 lines written along the fibres, the back being blank. Mounted on cardboard and housed in a glass case.

Provenance: Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2784-2849 as share from a joint purchase arranged with the University of Michigan, Yale University, Princeton University, Columbia University, and Wilfred Merton (b. 1888, d. 1957) from various dealers in November and December 1926, formally acquired in October 1927. Papyri 2823-2849 were purchased from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948).
