Personal letter in which Hierocles introduces Apollodorus to Zeno. Apollodorus is sailing to Herakleopolis, and Hierocles asks Zeno to make further introductions and to assist him in the purchase of some cloaks and tunics.
The back bears the address ‘Hierocles concerning Apollodorus to Nikanor’ [sic]’, and date. Papyrus 2682 (= P.Lond. VII 1946), another letter of introduction by Hierocles for Apollodorus, is accidentally addressed to Zeno instead of Nikanor.

An adjoining fragment of the papyrus is in Cairo under the inventory JdE 48980; Papyrus 2862 (P.Lond. VII 1946) preserves another letter of introduction by Hierocles for Apollodorus, describing his mission to Herakleopolis, and apparently written just after the letter to Zeno (Papyrus 2681).
The text is part of the Archive of Zenon son of Agreophon (TM Arch ID 256)
