Recto:
Arbitration over inheritance written in Coptic and concerning the same family as the one of P.Cair.Masp. 67006. The papyrus may well be part of the same roll as Papyrus 1728, with a lacuna between them. The plaintiffs, Victorine and Phoebammon, children of the deacon Ioannes, complain about the unequal division of the property made by their step-sister Philadelphia and their step-mother against their father’s will. In Papyrus 1745 the marriage settlement of Victorine, which is the object of P.Cair.Masp. 67006, seems to be mentioned as well. The arbitrator may well have been Dioscorus of Aphrodito, who wrote the text, and the document belongs to his archive.
Verso:
Anthology with miscellaneous poems by Dioscorus, the first three of which are to be found in Papyrus 1728 verso (P.Aphrod.Lit. IV 47, 37, 35). Papyrus 1745 contains:
- Lines 1-12 (P.Lond. Lit. 100 D = P.Aphrod.Lit. IV 36 = Heitsch XLII 25): Epithalamium for Athanasius, duke of the Thebaid; only a small trace of ink remains for line 12;
- Lines 13-46 (P.Lond. Lit. 100 E = P.Aphrod.Lit. IV 13): Encomium to the pagarch Phoebammon with acrostic;
- Lines 47-65 (P.Lond. Lit. 100 F = P.Aphrod.Lit. IV 25B = Heitsch XLII 18): Encomium for the notary Ioannes;
- Lines 66-76 (P.Lond. Lit. 100 G = P.Aphrod.Lit. IV 25A): Another encomium for Ioannes;
- Lines 77-end (P.Lond. Lit. 100 H = P.Aphrod.Lit. IV 31): Encomium for the birthday of Iulianus?
