Two notices by Epichares to Chaeremon concerning the export of wine.
In the second notice (lines 6-12) Epichares reports that Horus, son of Teos, is exporting two jars of wine from a village in the Herakleopolite nome to Hiera Nesus, and that the tax of one twenty-fourth has not been paid yet. The name of the exporter in the first receipt (lines 1-5) is damaged.
With subscription in Demotic at the end and name of Horus on the back.

Papyrus sheet reused as mummy cartonnage, with plaster and red paint residue, and darker surface at the top (front); mutilated especially to the right; written on both sides. On the front there are 14 lines running across the fibres, the last two of which are in Demotic; there is a blank between lines 5 and 6. Lower, left and upper margins survive. The back bears one line parallel to the fibres, written the other way up in relation to the text on the front. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Origin: Herakleopolite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Ankyropolis (El-Hiba), Egypt. Presented as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1821-1841 by the Egypt Exploration Fund in January 1909. They were extracted from mummy cartonnage obtained by Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) and Arthur Surridge Hunt (b. 1871, d. 1934) at Hibeh in 1902.
