Recto: Demotic text, unpublished.
Verso: Collection of letters addressed to Asclepiades, perhaps the financial official (oikonomos), from various men. The text is covered with plaster.
Column 1, lines 1-11: Letter from a sender whose name is lost, asking Asclepiades to see that a letter is delivered to Nysius, grain collector (sitologus) of the Heracleopolite nome.
Column 1, line 12-end: Letter of Aphrus, informing Asclepiades about the appointment of Isocrates as the scribe of the cleruchs sent to the Arsinoite nome and asking him to cooperate. The letter is numbered 17 at the top.
Column 2: Letter of Sopater with instructions on some wood to be sold.

Fragments of a papyrus roll reused as mummy cartonnage; the preserved portion is damaged by holes; written on both sides, along the fibres on the front and across them on the back. The text on the front is Demotic; the two columns on the back are in Greek, but are covered with plaster. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Script: Verso: Regular and neat official hand, large and upright. Same hand as P.Hib. 81.

Origin: Arsinoite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Ankyropolis (El-Hiba), Egypt. Presented as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1821-1841 by the Egypt Exploration Fund in January 1909. They were extracted from mummy cartonnage obtained by Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) and Arthur Surridge Hunt (b. 1871, d. 1934) at Hibeh in 1902.
