Diodorus has leased part of his land located in the Oxyrhynchite nome to Eucrates for the period of one year at a rent of four artabas of olyra (emmer wheat) in addition to part of the produce. The lease was drawn up at Tholthis, in the Oxyrhynchite nome, at the presence of witnesses. Remains of the mummy decoration are visible on the back.

Fragment of a dark-brown papyrus sheet, of lighter colour to the left, reused as mummy cartonnage; damaged by holes throughout. Writing is along the fibres on the front, with portions of 24 lines. The upper margin is not preserved, the lower is damaged and the side margins are minimal. The back bears remains of the mummy decoration.

Origin: Tholthis, Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Ankyropolis (El-Hiba), Egypt. Presented as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1821-1841 by the Egypt Exploration Fund in January 1909. They were extracted from mummy cartonnage obtained by Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) and Arthur Surridge Hunt (b. 1871, d. 1934) at Hibeh in 1902.
