Fragments of varying size from a papyrus roll, housed in three glass frames named Papyrus 2048(1), Papyrus 2048(2), and Papyrus 2048(3). The fragments housed in the second and third frames are mounted on cardboard, their back side being blank. The back of Papyrus 2048(1) bears few traces of ink. Each sheet forming the roll was between 170 and at least 215 mm wide.
The fragments bear portions of 18 columns written parallel to the fibres on the front, with a gap of 11 columns after column 7; each column measures 245 x 65, and has an average of 33-35 lines; each line contains approximately 18 letters; the intercolumn measures c. 20 mm. The entire roll would have had 133/134 columns.
Unplaced fragments, labelled as a-z, are housed in Papyus 2048(3).

Dimensions: Height of the roll: c. 280 mm; housed in three glass frames named Papyrus 2048(1), Papyrus 2048(2), and Papyrus 2048(3), measuring 320 x 585 mm, 315 x 405 mm, and 320 x 580 mm respectively.
Script: Severe Style. Diaeresis, iota adscript occur; punctuation by original hand. Accents, breathings and marks of elision by a second hand, responsible for corrections and insertion of variants in the margins; third hand responsible for the correction in 2048(3), column 5, line 5; occasional line fillers; paragraphus used to mark change of speaker, alongside double dots.
