Letter of Diogenes to Dionysius (P.Oxy. VII 1061, TM 20350)

A letter from Diogenes to Dionysius concerning the assessment of some unirrigated land and the payments due on it, which the recipient and his brother Apollonius, village secretary, are asked to oversee. Diogenes had already written to Dionysius on the matter without results, and consequently had to seek the help of a certain Ptolemaeus, less experienced than the recipient. The back contains the address.

Fully preserved papyrus sheet, with a few holes. All margins are extant, the right being minimal: the left measures 30 mm, the upper 20-25 mm and the lower 10 mm. Writing is on both sides along the fibres, the back having a two-line docket. The papyrus is housed in a glass case.
