Report of Legal Proceedings (P.Oxy. VIII 1102, TM 21727)
- Scope & Content:
-
Copy of a record of proceedings concerning a dispute over some property, the parties involved being a certain Eudaemon and the representatives of a city, apparently Oxyrhynchus. The delegates are laying claim on some property inherited by Eudaemon from his brother, which included land, furniture and slaves. An earlier hearing had already been held before the prefect Valerius Proculus, who had decided against Eudaemon. Cerealis, who is now dealing with the case, confirms that Eudaemon is to hand over a fourth of the property with the exception of a part given as a dowry. He then orders that further investigations be made as to an outstanding matter concerning certain lands inherited by Eudaemon.
