An agreement whereby Heracles and his wife Isarion of Oxyrhynchus consent to the adoption of their two-year old son Patermouthis by Aurelius Horion, of Oxyrhynchus. The child shall be the legal heir of Horion and shall not be repudiated or reduced into a state of slavery; Heracles and Isarion shall not take the child away from Horion. With subscription written by a scribe on behalf of Horion, who has agreed to the terms.

Papyrus sheet, damaged by wormholes and larger gaps especially in the folds, and lacking the top left, bottom left and bottom right edges. Writing is on one side along the fibres. Mounted in a glass case.

Dimensions: 235 x 156 mm; housed in a glass case measuring 280 x 205 mm.
Script: Neat and regular cursive hand with upright letters; a second hand, rougher, more cursive and sloping to the right, wrote the subscription from line 20 to end.
