Application concerning Deposits (P.Oxy. XII 1472, TM 21873)
- Scope & Content:
-
An application to Apollinarius, strategus of the Oxyrhynchite nome, from Heraclas alias Heraclides, of Oxyrhynchus, as regards a debt that the man is trying to recover. Heraclas had lent some corn on deposit to a certain Diogenes of Oxyrhynchus, who never paid it back; after Diogenes’ death, Heraclas expects Diogenes’ son to repay it. Heraclas encloses the authorization of Demetrius alias Domitius, the deputy-archidikastes (official with judicial authority), for the strategus to serve the notice upon the heir as a result of an earlier application of Heraclas.
