Letter of Pausanias to Heraclides about various matters. Pausanias explains that as his son, enrolled in a legion, prefers to serve in the cavalry, he went to Alexandria to ask that his son be transferred. He then promises to visit the recipient, asks him to see to the preparation of a deed of mortgage, and inquires about his health, given that there had been an outbreak of plague in his neighbourhood. Greetings were added in the left margin; the address is on the back.

Square-shaped papyrus sheet, pale brown, complete but damaged by insect holes, especially at the bottom left; written on both sides along the fibres, the back bearing two lines in the upper half of the sheet and modern annotations. On the front, there are 22 lines, the last of which are mutilated at the beginning; 3 additional lines were written across the fibres along the left margin. The margins are minimal. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
