Letter to Paieous on the Delivery of Supplies (P.Lond. VI 1918, TM 16856)

A letter addressed to Apa Paieous, head of the Meletian community in Hathor, from Charisius, who sends greetings to members of the community and reports the dispatch of some goods, such as dates, grapes and sweet olives. Charisius wishes to visit them soon. On the back there is the docket and two rectangular diagrams.

A light-brown papyrus sheet, damaged throughout and broken off at the bottom; top, right and left margins are extant. Writing is along the fibres on either side, the back also having two diagrams. The papyrus was folded from right to left and then from top to bottom. Mounted in a glass case.
