Lower portion of a leaf from a papyrus codex, originally having 16 or 17 lines per page. One side preserves 10 lines written across the fibres and parts of the lower and right margins; the other side preserves 9 lines written along the fibres, the lower and left margins. Housed in a glass case.

Materials: Papyrus.
Dimensions: 100 x 133 mm; housed in a glass case measuring 155 x 190 mm.
Script: Medium-sized upright cursive hand, somewhat compressed laterally. Punctuation is by spacing and using a middle dot; diaeresis on initial iota occurs once.

Provenance: Egypt. Purchased with a lot comprising Papyri 2556-2647 in November 1924, as part of a joint purchase with the University of Michigan, Columbia University, Princeton University, New York University, Wilfred Merton (b. 1888, d. 1957), and Alfred Chester Beatty (b. 1875, d. 1968); acquired from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948).
