Verso: Two recipes separated by paragraphoi, one, consisting of excrement of swallow and honey, is possibly concerned with sexual intercourse; the second is an aphrodisiac potion consisting of vegetables and wine to be drunk on an empty stomach.

Light-brown papyrus fragment, with wormholes throughout. Writing is on either side: the front contains the beginning of 9 lines written along the fibres, with the left margin extant; the text on the back, running across the fibres, is complete, although imperfect in the top left corner. The top margin measures 23 mm, the bottom one 54 mm. Housed in a glass case.

Dimensions: 145 x 96 mm; housed in a glass case measuring 195 x 145 mm.
Script: Recto: Upright cursive of fair size; Verso: Large upright uncial hand with cursive elements. Paragraphoi occur between lines 4 and 5 and at the end to separate the recipes.

Purchased with a lot comprising Papyri 2556-2647 in November 1924, as part of a joint purchase with the University of Michigan, Columbia University, Princeton University, New York University, Wilfred Merton (b. 1888, d. 1957), and Alfred Chester Beatty (b. 1875, d. 1968); acquired from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948).
