Papyrus fragment, broken to the right and containing a column of 28 lines, the beginnings of which are preserved. The upper margin survives to 47 mm. Writing is along the fibres and the back is blank. Mounted on cardboard in a glass case.

Dimensions: 210 x 104 mm; housed in a glass case measuring 250 x 150 mm.
Script: Round medium-sized uncial of biblical type. Accents, apostrophe and high stop occur.

Provenance: Egypt. Purchased with a lot comprising Papyri 2556-2647 in November 1924, as part of a joint purchase with the University of Michigan, Columbia University, Princeton University, New York University, Wilfred Merton (b. 1888, d. 1957), and Alfred Chester Beatty (b. 1875, d. 1968); acquired from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948).
