Recto: Portion of an account concerning the Oxyrhynchite village of Mermertha, with names and figures. Unpublished.
Verso (SB VIII 10199, TM 23655): Fragmentary petition to the prefect for release from public service from a petitioner whose name is lost. The petitioner already served as supervisor of food supply (eutheniarch) in the previous year, and is now compelled to contribute again to the same office in the current year. Dated 219-220 or 223-224.

Fragmentary papyrus sheet with detached scrap, complete at the top and left (front), broken off on the other sides; written on both sides. The front bears one column running along the fibres and a few letters from the following column. The back contains one column written across the fibres, broken off at the bottom and to the left. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Origin: Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Oxyrhynchus, Oxyrhynchite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2103-2239 from Bernard Pyne Grenfell (b. 1869, d. 1926) in May 1920. Grenfell had bought the papyrus in the previous months from Abdallah Ismail.
