ANONYMOUS TREATISE to prove 'That Popishe Priestes are not proceeded with or condemned in England bicause they tooke orders or were brought vpp beyonde the seas', &c., but for seditious practices. Preceded (f. 1) by a list of 'The names of the bookes and authors that are hereafter cited', and divided into 16 chapters or 'Reasons'. The 'General observations' (f. 4) beg. 'It is here to be observed that, although the sayd saecular priests that wrote against the Jesuits'. In the margin opposite the beginning of the tract (f. 5) is written 'A rough draught to be reviewed, abridged or enlarged as occasion shall require'.
