The Roman de la Rose by Guillaume de Lorris, continued by Jean de Meun at f. 25r; 'Et si lay je perdu espoir'..
ff. 1r-128r: beginning, 'Maintes gens dient quen songes/ Na se flabes non et menconges/ Mus on puet telz songes songes/ Qui ne sont mie mencongier', ending: 'Ainsi oi la rose vermeille/ A tant fu jour et je mesveille. Explicit. Le roumant de la rose/ ou lart damours est toute enclose/ Deo gracias'.
Decoration:
Partial bar border in colours and gold with vine leaf extensions and a foliate initial with foliate extensions into the margins, in colour and on gold ground (f. 1r). Small initials in blue with red pen flourishing or in red with black pen flourishing.
A pen trial drawn by the scribe: f. 77r.
