EDWARD HERBERT OF CHERBURY TREATISE
Treatise on the Christian religion, in dialogue form, by Edward Herbert, 1st Lord Herbert of Cherbury, d. 1648 (see preface to printed edition). Imperfect copy, wanting one or two leaves at the beginning; 18th cent. The work was printed in 1768 under the title A Dialogue between a Tutor and his Pupil on the elements of religion. Another MS. copy, written circ. 1650, is in the Bodleian Library, Oxford (Ballard MS. 54). Paper; ff. i + 60. Folio. XVIII cent. Belonged to Henry Herbert, 9th Earl of Pembroke, whose name is written on the flyleaf.
