SIMON BROWNE COLLECTIONS
Collection of miscellaneous theological letters and treatises, partly the work of Simon Browne, Minister at Portsmouth and at Old Jewry, London (1680-1732). Included are:-
(1) Psalms i-xiii, metrical version, in the hand of Simon Browne. ff. 1-4.
(2) 'Propositions concerning Church Communion and Schism' in the hand of Simon Browne. f. 5.
(3) Correspondence of Simon Browne and others on Paedobaptism and other church doctrines; 1702, etc. Copies. Latin, English and shorthand. ff. 8-23, 34-42.
(4) Treatise, 'Whether Episcopacy, i.e. Bishops as a Superior order to Presbyters be of Divine right' by Simon Browne. ff. 24-28, 31-33.
(5) Catalogue of S. Browne's books and their prices; 16 Mar. 1708/9 . ff. 34b, 35b, 37-40.
(6) Treatise, 'Truth in ye inward parts held forth in a Conference betwixt the Soule and the Spirit'; 17th cent. ff. 46-54.
