CLARKE AND DAILLON PAPERS
Miscellaneous theological collection, the first part of which (ff. 1-48) consists of copies of correspondence of Samuel Clarke, D.D., of Caius College, Cambridge, and sometime Rector of St. James, Westminster (d. 1729); 1706-1728. The latter part (ff. 49-101) comprises correspondence and papers of Benjamin de Daillon, Minister at La Rochefoucauld, and, afterwards, 'Moderateur' of the French Church in London (d. 1726), chiefly relating to his sermons and works on the doctrine of Demons; 1673-1696. The last document in the volume consists of extracts from the 'livre des
deliberations de messrs les ministres françois refugiés en Angleterre' concerning meetings on 4 Jan 1691/2, and 18 Jan. 1691/2, specially summoned to consider B. de Daillon's opinions and conduct. The names of the writers are to be found in the Index of the present Catalogue. Paper; ff. 101. Folio. XVII-XVIII centt.
